Paulina Marinos —

Chief Operations Officer

With over a decade of experience turning complexity into clarity, I’ve worn many hats, navigating complex projects across diverse sectors, including healthcare, education, and research. Along the way, I’ve honed my skills in data visualization, analytical problem-solving, and end-to-end project coordination, all driven by a single guiding principle: organization empowers excellence.

That’s why I co-founded Clarity Layer. Together with Alexandra’s deep expertise in governance frameworks and client-facing strategy, we can move mountains — while I keep the strings neatly in hand so that creativity and innovation can flow.

I chose this path because I believe quality is deeply rooted in well-designed processes and that ethical data handling isn’t optional, it’s essential. My degree in philosophy gives me a strong foundation for navigating the ethical dimensions of data work, ensuring decisions are not only effective but responsible.

For me, governance isn’t bureaucracy, it’s peace of mind. Because when the foundation is solid, decisions get faster, work gets smoother, and results speak for themselves.

Alexandra Popa —

Chief Data Officer

I design calm, trustworthy data environments so teams can move fast with confidence. I’m the co-founder of Clarity Layer, and I also serve as a Governance Expert & Data Steward at KION Group. My focus is data governance, strategy, and the boring-but-beautiful mechanics that make decisions reproducible and audits routine.

Over the past decade I’ve led data programmes end-to-end—translating business goals into frameworks, controls, and reporting that actually hold up under pressure. I blend hands-on work (policy→code, quality rules, lineage, access) with executive alignment, so outcomes are both technically sound and organizationally real.

I’ve run data functions inside fast-moving companies and research-heavy contexts. Highlights include serving as Director of Research & Data at LEADING EMPLOYERS, where I led methodology, governance, and the shift from slide decks to automated reporting; earlier I built the data department from scratch as Head of Data at a product company and drove cross-team automation and integrations.

My background is equal parts strategy and statistics. I’ve taught research design and analytics to 500+ professionals, and I still love the moment a messy question becomes a clear decision path. I work best with ambitious, resource-constrained teams that need speed and certainty.
